The Department of Finance and Accounts is made up of two Divisions namely:
(a) Account Division and
(b) Budget Division
Account Division is responsible for collection, custody and disbursement of all public funds of the Ministry. It also renders relevant returns to the appropriate authorities while;
Budget Division is responsible for coordination and preparation of budget estimate, for the Ministry and its Parastatal. It also carries our budget monitoring.
The vision of this department is to render quality and timely services to both Internal and external persons who may have dealing with the Ministry; and render timely returns of such transactions.
To efficiently, professionally and effectively discharge the duties of preparing a realizable budget, monitor projects, collect revenues, effective custody of all assets and liabilities of the Ministry as well as accounting for all funds released to the Ministry.
Keeping of adequate record and updating the books of Accounts.
Timely preparation and payment of salaries and allowances of the staff.
Prompt payment of Ministry’s obligations.
Prompt payment of all staff entitlements
Timely rendition of relevant returns to appropriate Authorities.
Timely remittance of revenues collected on behalf of other Organizations e.g. W.H.T.; PAYEE, VAT. Etc.
Quick response to correspondence from other agencies of the government e.g. Office of the Author General of the Federation (OAGF).
Prepares realizable budget estimates
Carries out effective budget monitoring.

All contractors and suppliers
All supervisory authorities e.g.
Office of Accountant- General of the Federation
Office of Auditor-general of the Federation.
Other Government Organization and Institutions e.g. Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)
Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS)
Sub-Treasury of the Federation
Federal Mortgage Bank
Other Commercial Bank etc.
Complaint Redress Mechanism
Hitherto, complaints were rarely made about our services, however should there be any; such complaint would either come in directly to the Director International and Comparative Law department who in turn would take such a complaint up personally, or bring such issues up during departmental meeting where officers of the department will deliberate on it.
