NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WORKERS UNDER PROBE FOR ALLEGED AGE FALSIFICATION – PUNCH PG.8

The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into a case of alleged criminal conspiracy and forgery against three top management staff members of the National Assembly.

Our correspondent learnt that the three officials (names withheld) are currently holding key positions in the management hierarchy. They were said to have been invited twice by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command over alleged falsification of their dates of birth records, aimed at extending their retirement period.

NIN: FG SUSPENDS OFFICIALS OVER EXTORTION AT NIMC CENTRES – PUNCH PG.40

The Federal Government has suspended workers fingered in extortion at enrolment centres of the National Identity Management Commission. It was gathered that the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, ordered the immediate suspension of the staff members involved in extortion of applicants at the NIMC Bauchi and Kaduna state offices.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to direct anti-corruption agencies to probe allegations that N3,836,685,213.13 of public funds meant for the Federal Ministry of Health, teaching hospitals, medical centres, and National Food Drug Administration and Control are missing. President Muhammadu Buhari has again advocated for a unified action by African countries against terrorism, which he described as a grave security challenge facing the continent. 10 ROBBERY SUSPECTS ESCAPE FROM POLICE CELL – DAILY TRUST PG.26

Ten suspects on Monday escaped from a cell of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Bayelsa State Police Command in Yenagoa, the state capital. However, out of the 10 escapees, five were said to have been re-arrested in Yenagoa and Agbura, on the outskirts of the state capital, on Tuesday. It was learnt that the re-arrest of the five suspects followed an order of a manhunt by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Asuquo Amba.
