#ENDSARS CAMPAIGNERS DEMAND EXECUTIVE ORDER DISBANDING SQUAD – PUNCH PG.11, SUN PG.6

After days of public outcry and nationwide protests, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on Sunday, bowed to pressure and disbanded the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

He said a new policing arrangement to address armed robbery and other violent crimes that fall within the mandate of the dissolved tactical unit would be presented in due course.

After several days of protests by Nigerians to scrap the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu on Sunday dissolved the squad. The IGP, who spoke through the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, said all officers and men of the now-defunct group would be redeployed with immediate effect.
