MAGU: ‘MALAMI SHOULD STOP APPEARING BEFORE JUSTICE SALAMI PANEL’ – NATION PG.6
A CIVIL society organization (CSO), the Global Integrity Crusade Network (GICN), has urged the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to stop attending the sittings of the Justice Isa Ayo Salami-led presidential panel investigating allegations of corruption against the suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu.
The group said Malami’s appearance before the panel as a witness could negatively affect the outcome of the panel’s efforts.

An Abuja-based lawyer, Oladimeji Felix Ekengba, has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari and the Senate breached Section 256(2) of the Nigerian Constitution, 1999 in the appointment of judges of the FCT High Court. Ekengba is therefore asking a Federal High Court in Abuja to compel President Buhari and the Senate to comply with the constitution by confirming the names of the 11 persons sent to it rather than forward same to the Senate for confirmation as was done on July 7.

The Legal Practitioner’s Privileges Committee On Wednesday released the first shortlist of 137 candidates who applied for the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria. The list which was seen by Newsmen comprised 116 advocate and 21 academic applicants including Tijani Alkali Gazali Esq of Federal Ministry of Justice.

THE Indigenous People of Biafra has declared October 1 a sit-at-home day across states in the South-East region, which it described as Biafraland. The IPOB stated that the sit-at-home declaration was in solidarity with its Yoruba brothers in the Diaspora agitating for Oduduwa Republic.
