Barring the unforeseen, President Muhammadu Buhari will tomorrow sign the N13.588 trillion 2021 Appropriation Bill into law. This is to enable the budget implementation kick off in January next year.

Next Year’s budget was prepared to address the damage done to the economy by the Coronavirus pandemic

Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese Matthew Hassan Kuka yesterday said he didn’t call for Coup. He said he had no problem with President Muhammadu Buhari, but with his leadership style. The Bishop’s scathing attack on the President sparked a huge row. Some groups accused the cleric of calling for the President’s removal through undemocratic means. But Kukah said his Christmas message was misconstrued.

COMMUNITY POLICING BEGINS IN KADUNA, KEBBI, SOKOTO WITH 975 COPS – THE NATION PG.5

Community policing has been kicked started in Kaduna, Kebbi and Sokoto states. In Kaduna, 272 Police Constables passed out from the training school yesterday. Kebbi has 336 while Sokoto has 367constables. Speaking at the Passing-Out-Parade of the Constabulary, Governor El-Rufai said Community Policing has come stay.

FAMILY OF MURDERED BOAT DRIVER SUES JTF, ALLEGES EXTRA-JUDICIAL KILLING – THE NATION PG.7

The family of murdered Boat Driver, Bolouzimo Tulagha of Agudama/Epetiama community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has dragged the Joint Military Task Force (JTF), code named Operation Safe Delta (ODS), to a judicial panel, over an alleged Extra-Judicial killing. The family, in a petition submitted before the Retired Justice Emmanuel Ogola led panel, alleged that an operative of the ODS, identified as Abdul, of Otiotio Unit, shot Tulagha dead over an alleged suspicion of selling guns.

CAPTAIN ALLEGEDLY FACES COURT-MARTIAL OVER PETITION AGAINST CNS – THE PUNCH PG.7

A former Assistant Director Procurement in the Defence Intelligence Agency, Capt. Emmanuel Ekpe, has reportedly been summoned to appear before a Court Martial in Lagos, for allegedly petitioning the President, accusing the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, of misconduct. Ekpe, aka Owen, a decorated naval officer, was said to have been relieved of his appointment at the DIA following the petition in which he accused Ibas of corruption, abuse of office and employment of state powers to pursue personal vendetta.

Deeper Life High School yesterday said there was no attempt to cover up the case of an eleven-year-old schoolboy, who was allegedly molested at its campus in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
