Governors will fight insecurity with every fibre of their being, the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) has said. The Forum added that the governors would not succumb to those perpetrating insurgency in the country. The Chairman of the Forum and Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, spoke on Tuesday in Minna when he led a delegation to Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello over the kidnappings in the state.

THE Imo State Government on Tuesday restated its resolve to recovering the assets of the state allegedly diverted by a former governor, Rochas Okorocha. The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, who responded to Okorocha’s allegation that the state Governor, Hope Uzodimma, wanted to rule by intimidation, said the former governor, who currently represents Imo West in the Senate, must know the “difference between intimidation and justice.”

The Chairman, Police Service Commission, Musiliu Smith, has attributed the #EndSARS protests to the misconduct of officers of the Nigeria Police Force. The trial of a former Governor of Kaduna State, MuktarRamalanYero, before Justice Z. B. Abubakar of the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna continued on yesterday, with the tendering of evidence by the first prosecution witness (PW1), Jonah Abimaje. Yero is being prosecuted by the Kaduna Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over his alleged involvement in the sharing of N700million provided by former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke to influence the outcome of the 2015 presidential election.

Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Bolaji Owasanoye, has said the #EndSARS movement was largely financed by crypto-currency, an indication that it could be used to fund insurgency. This is even as the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) said it has averted a $3 million fraud linked to 20 bank accounts recently.
