Justice Folashade Ogunbanjo granted an ex parte application for interim forfeiture of the assets and property by the chairman of the EFCC, made on March 9.

Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has threatened to discontinue the trial of erstwhile Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani over alleged misrepresentation of proceedings by the prosecutor, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Justice Ekwo spoke yesterday after Sani’s lawyer complained, at the resumption of proceedings, that the EFCC allegedly gave an inaccurate account, on its Twitter page, of what transpired on Monday during proceedings.

A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan, has ordered that IskiluWakili, the Fulani herder accused to masterminding killings, rape and kidnapping in Kajola in the Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State and his two sons be remanded in prison custody. The order was delivered by the Chief Magistrate, Emmanuel Idowu, following the arraignment of Wakili, his sons; Abu (45) and Samaila (27) by the police.

The Senate Committee on Finance has said it would summon the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit for the general audit of the Treasury Single Account since 2015. Speaking at the panel’s hearing in Abuja, the chairman of the committee, Senator Olamilekan Adeola said the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Office of the Accountant-General and the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) had also been invited.
