The newly appointed Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (HAGF) Abdullateef Olasukanmi Fagbemi, SAN has called on the staff of the ministry to redouble their efforts in the discharge of their duties.
Fagbemi stated this at the official assumption and handing over ceremony of the newly appointed (HAGF) on Monday August 21st, 2023, In Abuja
Fagbemi in his brief remarks said, the Ministry of Justice holds a very strategic position in the country. He stated that the ministry would deliver on the Renew Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
The HAGF who expressed his commitment to work in pursuit of the progress of the Ministry urged the staff to follow suit. He appreciated the Solicitor General of the Federation/Permanent Secretary for her efforts towards ensuring a successful reception.
Earlier in her speech, the Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Mrs Beatrice Jedy- Agba noted that the Ministry constitutional responsibilities and statutory mandate is enormous, pledging the ministry’s support to achieve success.
She gave recitation of the HAGF Profile and handed over the mantle of leadership to the Minister.
In her Welcome Remark, Director, Planning, Research & Statistics, Mrs. Victoria Ojogbane, at the maiden meeting reiterated the Ministry’s vision which is “to make justice accessible to all consistent with the ideals of democracy and the rule of law”.
She eulogised the SGF/PS who since her assumption of duty began a developmental realignment of the Ministry’s activities and engagements to “Enhancing Systems and Structures in the Ministry for effective Service Delivery”.
She presented Heads of Parastatals and Agencies under the supervision of the Ministry and the Management staff who took turn to introduce themselves and the Agency/Department/Unit which they represented. She described them as men and women who are skilled and exceptional leaders charged with responsibilities and determined to assist the HAGF achieve his mandate.
In attendance were Heads of Parastatals, Agencies and Commissions under the supervision of the Ministry.
